# Importing a Scribe article

> Create a checkpoint and fill its article with the steps and screenshots from a Scribe knowledge article.

Create a new checkpoint for your responsibility by importing detailed steps and images directly from a Scribe knowledge article. This keeps all your process documentation in one place and ensures teams have the information they need.

</Steps>

You now have a checkpoint populated with step-by-step instructions and screenshots from Scribe. This keeps your processes clear, visually rich, and easy for your team to follow.

## Before you import

* The Scribe link must be a public share link. If the guide is private, make it public in Scribe, then try again.
* The imported content appears as an unsaved draft. Click **Save** to keep it. See [Editing an article](/checkpoints/editing-an-article).
* If the article already has content, importing replaces it. exIQtive asks you to confirm first.
